JAMMU, Mar 2: Rohit Baskotra, SSP Poonch held a crime review meeting at DPO Poonch with the Supervisory/Territorial Officers. During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was hold on the under investigation cases particularly those registered under UAPA/NDPS offences.
Necessary directions were issued to the participating officers for time bound disposal of all pending cases on merits without compromising the quality of investigation besides strictly following the SOPs issued by the higher ups for UAPA/NDPS cases and bring down the pendency toll to the minimal level.
All pending cases of district Poonch were also discussed in detail and necessary instructions were imparted. The inquest proceedings, absconders and missing persons were also discussed and the officers were asked to make strenuous efforts to apprehend the absconders and trace out missing persons.
Supervisory/Territorial officers were directed to keep OGWs/bad character elements / Drug peddlers/ bovine smugglers under scanner and take strict penal and preventive action against the accused. Officers were directed to keep a close liaison with public, hold regular public meeting and aware citizens about menace of drug abuse and it’s I’ll effect on society. “A watch on traffic violations be kept and action under law to be taken. Numberdars, Chowkidars be apprised about their responsibilities so that they can apprise the govt about local issues in the villages,” Bakotra directed.
