SSP Railways chairs security review meet

JAMMU, Jan 15: In anticipation of the Republic Day 2024, a crucial security review meeting was convened at the office of SSP Railways Jammu, Mohan Lal Kaith.
The gathering included officers like Albeena Malik, SDPO Railways Jammu; Naresh Kumar, SDPO Railways Vijaypur; Inspector Niaz Ahmed, SHO GRP Jammu; Inspector Ajay Kumar, SHO GRP Kathua; Chetan Singh, SHO RPFJAT; and all incharge Police Posts of GRP Jammu.
A statement said that the primary agenda of the meeting was to assess the security on the ground concerning the current security scenario and the impending Republic Day-2024 celebrations.
During the meeting, SSP Railways Jammu, Mohan Lal Kaith, underscored the need to heighten security measures and urged everyone to remain exceptionally vigilant given the prevailing circumstances and the approaching Republic Day event.
Emphasizing the effectiveness of joint efforts, SSP Kaith advocated for round-the-clock patrolling, a collaborative effort between GRP and RPF officials, a strategy that received unanimous agreement from RPF officials present in the meeting.
There was a specific call to maximize the use of security equipment at railway stations, coupled with thorough frisking of visitors to eliminate any potential sabotage.
Taking a hands-on approach, SSP Kaith directed all SHOs and incharge PPs to personally conduct regular checks, especially during the night, ensuring strict implementation of directives.
SDPOs were tasked with the responsibility of regular supervision and performance monitoring of officers and personnel. Any lapse in duty was to be promptly reported to SSP Kaith for immediate corrective action against the responsible officials.
In a comprehensive review of intelligence inputs, officers were reminded to remain on high alert, mitigating the risk of untoward incidents during the Republic Day function scheduled for January 26.
