KATRA, Sept 27: SSP Railways Katra, Ranjit Singh Sambyal held a crime review meeting in his office chamber with SDPOs Railways Katra/Udhampur, Senior Prosecuting Officer, all SHOs & I/C Police Posts of GRP Katra.
The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation besides disposal of missing person and inquest proceedings cases, departmental enquiries and review action under preventive measures.
The issues of Public complaints pending with sub-division levels were also discussed in detail and necessary directions were imparted to all SHOs/I/CPPs to conclude the investigation of the cases/ inquest proceedings and departmental enquiries with transparency on its merits at shortest possible time and bring the pendency to minimum. SSP emphasized that while investigating the cases, the directions/ instructions issued by PHQ/ RPHQ from time to time should be adhered to in letter and spirit. Besides, all the officers were asked to take all the security measures as deemed fit by them so that a foolproof security can be provided to the Railway passengers/pilgrims.
During meeting many issues were raised, including drug menace, over loading, traffic incidents and updating public of good work done by police.
It was also discussed in the meeting that the social crime, smuggling of drugs, liquor etc be eradicated from the society and PCPG meeting shall also be conducted at regular intervals.
