JAMMU, Feb 27: Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic Rural, Jammu, Mohan Lal Kaith chaired a meeting of Traffic officers/officials of Samba-Kathua today.
During the meeting, detailed discussion over various issues including smooth and effective regulation of vehicular traffic and prevention of overloading/ accidents in their respective area of responsibility was held. The officers and officials were asked to crack down on the traffic law violators and take strict actions against them.
The officers were instructed to put in special efforts to clear areas of congestions and maintain smooth regulation of traffic especially in the market areas, rotaries and junctions. Kaith directed the officers to take strict action against the violators, who drive vehicles without wearing crash helmets, seat belts, without insurance, pollution under control certificates and school buses etc.
He also asked to counsel the Traffic law violators regarding road safety rules while enforcing Traffic rules so that the number of road accidents is reduced. The officers and officials were also asked to deal with the violators firmly but politely. DySP, Traffic Samba-Kathua, Behari Lal and other DTIs also attended the meeting.
