UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir SSRB Teacher/Master Association was held here today under the chairmanship of State President Rakesh Singh to discuss the issues of promotion of fake and illegal degree holders as incharge Lecturers.
Singh said that there are many Teachers and Masters who have acquired Masters in Science stream during in-service period from tuck shops/ study centres/off-campus established by the university outside the territorial jurisdiction of their State for which they do not have requisite permission from Distance Education Council.
“It is ridiculous that Teachers who are appointed on or before 1985 have acquired or more appropriately purchased degree in Science from illegal study centers on or after 2016 and they are elevated as Lecturers. How it is possible to obtain Science degrees through correspondence mode during in service period?” he asked.
Mr Singh further said that previously also the Department had promoted many fake degree holders of B Ed as Master grades like from Bhartiya Siksha Parishad etc. “It seems that the School Education Department is promoting the culture of acquiring fake degrees by giving them promotions blindly ignoring the sentiments of regular degree holders and for which higher officers of education department are responsible” Singh added.
Singh urged Director School Education Jammu to issue necessary directions to all Chief Education Officers in Jammu province to initiate the process of transfer of Teachers as per transfer policy and reshuffle all Teachers who have completed more than three years in present place of posting.
Forum also expressed resentment against the order issued by District administration Udhampur regarding sending selfie in WhatsApp group as this is directly against right of privacy and against the dignity of Teachers especially female teaching staff and demanded to revoke the same.
