Staff found absent during MLA’s visit to PHC

CHHATROO, Jan 4: Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori conducted surprise inspection of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chatroo of district Kishtwar and found several staff members absent from duty.
The MLA on the persistent complaints of the public paid surprise visit to the PHC  today and came know about the behaviour of the medical staff.  He asked the Health authorities to take action against the absentee staff.
“Why no action is being taken against erring doctors,” the angry people asked MLA Inderwal and appealed him to take up the matter with higher authorities and take exemplary action against the delinquents.
MLA Inderwal while inspecting PHC Chatroo found 5 staff members, including medicos and paramedics, absent from duty while only two pharmacists were present in the hospital. He also found 6 technical staff of the laboratory absent.
Saroori who is also a local MLA of the area, telephonically informed the Commissioner Secretary for Health & Medical Education Department Dr MK Bhandari and Director Health Services Jammu Dr Baljeet Singh Pathania, and asked them to seek explanation from the absentees, including Block Medical Officer Chatroo, for negligence of duty.
He also asked Director Health Jammu to initiate action against doctors and staff who were found absent during a surprise visit.
