JAMMU, Dec 16: Transport Commissioner barred the stage carriage vehicles from carrying goods.
According to the order issued by Transport Commissioner, J&K, Parvaiz Iqbal Khateeb, no goods of commercial nature will be carried on any stage carriage passenger vehicle operating on local routes and areas in the State of J&K.
Only bonafide personal luggage of a passenger travelling in a stage carriage will be allowed to be carried on stage carriage vehicle in accordance with the provisions of rule 84 of J&K Motor Vehicle Rules, 1991, the order stated.
Passengers, in their own interest, are advised not to travel in such vehicles as stage carriage vehicles which are found to be violating the conditionalties as set in the J&K Motor Vehicle Rules 1991 and this order may result in inconvenience to the passengers at odd locations in the event of unloading such goods, the order reads.
