SAMBA, Dec 8: To strengthen the justice delivery system, discuss various issues concerning the judiciary and work out solutions to enhance the efficiency level of District Judiciary Samba, a coordination meeting of all the stakeholders was held under the chairmanship of R N Wattal, Principal District and Sessions Judge, at District Court Complex, Samba.
The meeting was attended by Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Samba; Arvind Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge; Varinder Manhas, Senior Superintendent of Police; Sandeep Sen, Secretary DLSA; Public Prosecutors, senior officers of Civil Departments as well as from the Prisons. Umesh Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba and Member Secretary of the Coordination Committee, conducted proceedings of the meeting as per the decided agenda.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Samba, emphasized upon the participants to streamline and enhance the level of coordination between the Courts and other stakeholders for strengthening the justice delivery system.
A threadbare discussion on various issues, especially about infrastructure, SOPs relating to investigation, extensive use of video conferencing system to conduct remand proceedings and the trial, security and cleanliness of the court complex, and disposal of the seized properties including narcotics, was held in the meeting.
The Police, the District Administration and all other participating departments ensured wholehearted cooperation in resolving the identified issues in a time-bound manner. The meeting concluded with the presentation of a vote of thanks by Sandeep Sen, Secretary DLSA.
