LOS ANGELES, Jan 21: Disney and Lucasfilm have postponed the release date of “Star Wars: Episode VIII” by seven months.
The film originally set for May 26, 2017 release, will now debut on December 15, 2017, reported Entertainment Weekly.
According to Lucasfilm, the movie, which takes forward the story of Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, and villain Kylo Ren, was supposed to begin filming this month in the UK but will now start principal photography next month.
Prior to “The Force Awakens,” that released on December 25 last year, Star Wars films were always summertime releases, with each of the original trilogy and the prequel movies hitting theatres in May. (PTI)
