Start AIIMS OPD in Jammu

Sir,
How can a Govt, which is so called Pro people can neglect the primary and basic facility of providing tertiary health care near to their state since more than almost five years after declaration of setting up AIIMS in Jammu?
It is to be stated that people from far flung areas are suffering from deadly diseases and cannot afford costly treatment in the first place. Moreover cannot waste precious time in travelling to nearby Amritsar/Chandigarh/Delhi in case of urgent medical situations, when each and every moment of time for patient is critical .
“The much awaited AIIMS hospital is only on papers and progress on the ground is not as per expectations of the region people.
What can be interim solution to alleviate the sufferings of the people of the region can be, till AIIMs building is constructed, Government should start AIIMS OPD at Super Specialty+ Hospital at Jammu so that people of Jammu and nearby areas in general and from far flung areas especially of Ramban, Gool, Mahore, Sangaldan, Kishtwar, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri can avail the best health care facility in their own State.
The suggestion to setup a temporary OPD is very relevant and to be considered on merit and on urgent basis . This will immediately provide relief to masses at an affordable cost. Patients won’t need to travel outside the State for expert options.
It really feels strange that even after more than 70 years of independence, J&K State does not have single medical institute of repute catering to the tertiary health needs of the people of the state and they have to travel to nearby capital Delhi and sometime even to Mumbai for treatment options.
It is high time, Govt meets the aspirations of the people’s basic needs and starting of AIIMS OPD from SSH premises will be the first interim step in the right direction before reaching to full fledged setup of the AIIMS at the allotted space with full resident doctors and expertise .
