State Assembly adjourns twice as PDP MLAs create uproar over new administrative units

JAMMU: The State Assembly was adjourned twice on the second day of the ongoing Budget session today as Peoples Democratic Party legislators created uproar over the creation of new administrative units.
Alleging discrimination with various regions of the State, the PDP MLAs carrying banners demanding tehsil status for their respective constituencies, jumped into the well of the House and created pandemonium.
Amid slogans ‘bandar baant nahi chalegi’, and ‘sabke ke saath insaaf karo’, PDP disrupted the proceedings of the House during the Question Hour.
However, when despite the assurances from the Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul that they (PDP) can make their point during discussion on Budget, the PDP members continued with protest into the well following which the Speaker adjourned the proceedings for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile as soon as the House resumed, the PDP MLAs joined by Bhartiya Janta Party and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party MLAs created ruckus over distribution of new administrative units.
The members were demanding justice to all the three regions. PDP members however, climbed the table in front of the Speaker’s chair following which the Speaker again adjourned the House for 15 minutes. (AGENCIES)
