JAMMU:
The J&K Government here today announced the names of the State awardees in various fields on the eve of the 66th Republic Day.
Noted santoor player Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma has been accorded the State’s lifetime achievement award.
Prominent Kashmiri writer Shafi Shauq has been accorded the State award for achievement in the field of literature whereas playwright Moti Lal Kemmu has been awarded in the field of performing arts.
Painting Tsering Wangdus has been awarded for excellence in arts and crafts.
Arun Kumar Mehta, principal secretary power development department and M H Malik, deputy commissioner, Poonch have been accorded State award for meritorious public service.
Gymnast Palak Kour Bijral and football player Ishfaq Ahmad have been accorded the award for being outstanding sportspersons. (AGENCIES)
