State, Central Govts maintaining criminal silence over plight of migrants: KPC

NEW DELHI, Mar 26:  Coming down heavily on criminal silence maintained by State and Central Government on burning issues of Kashmiri Pandits, Kundan Kashmiri, president Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) accused the State Government for deliberately delaying the passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill.
Addressing a meeting of KPC activists in Union Capital today he said the condition of these shrines and temples which are living symbols of Kashmir’s ancient culture in the Valley is deplorable.
Though repeatedly the attention of the Government was turned about illegal encroachments and land grabbing by the vested interest in the past, but unfortunately  no concrete steps were taken by it to stop the same nor any steps were taken for renovation of these religious places. He demand that KPs Temple and Shrine Bill be passed in the current session of J&K Assembly and appealed all members of Legislative Assembly irrespective of their party affiliations to raise this issue in the Assembly and get this Bill passed.
Kashmiri appealed Chief Minister of J&K State and Astrakhan to grant some financial assistant for the renovation and repair of KP Dharamshala at Haridwar in order to make a proper staying place available for the yatris of the community visiting  Haridwar. He also appealed community brothers to come forward and co-operate for the promotion, renovation and maintain of KP Dharamshala at Haridwar which is located at Mansa Devi Rope way road.
KPC chief also demanded that separate quarters to be constructed for the migrant employees who are presently accommodate in the Khir Bhawani buildings and Jagti camp inmates be provided all basic facilities.
