JAMMU, May 17: Member Legislative Council (MLC) and Senior BJP leader Advocate Vibodh Gupta has termed present era as golden period of history for women-folk as State and Centre Governments have launched many programmes to empower woman folk.
Advocate Vibodh Gupta convened District BJP Mahila Morcha meeting wherein district Media Incharge and Vistarak Anoop Kotwal and District Mahila Morcha President Anju Khullar along with other BJP Mahila Morcha workers were present.
During the meeting, Gupta said that recently Cabinet approved levy a stamp duty of 5 per cent for woman buyers in urban areas, 3 per cent in rural areas and fixed zero percent if the property in both urban as well as rural areas is registered in the name of a female member of the family is a welcome step and it will help gender balancing.
He said that according to the 2011 census, there are 859 females per 1000 males in J&K and female literacy rate stands at 58.01 percent but now State and Centre Governments are taking certain steps to empower woman.
Vibodh said that there are Laadli Beeti scheme which has changed the lifestyle of many parents in the State. He added that Centre Government is taking various step under the schemes like Rashtriya Mahila Kosh, Mother and Child Tracking System and Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls and Priyadarshini to improve the condition of women in India.
He appealed woman folk to come forward to empower the policies of Government on women empowerment. He said that such policies are historic and beneficial for every woman.
District Media Incharge and Vistarak Anoop Kotwal said that the Government has launched various schemes only to empower woman.
Speaking on the occasion, District President BJP Mahila Morcha Anju Khullar termed Modi’s women empowerment mission as historic.
Among others present were Rekha Sharma, Renu Gupta, Sukriti Gupta, Arti Isher, Sanjogiata Gupta, Mamta Sharma, Parveen Sharma, Arti Sharma, Gulaz Begum, Rakiua Begum, Nazia Begum, Saira Begum and Reena Devi.
