State Govt to ask Centre for rehabilitation of Jammu migrants

SRINAGAR :  Jammu and Kashmir government today decided to forward a proposal to the Centre for rehabilitation of Jammu migrants on the pattern of Kashmiri Pandits.
The decision to submit the proposal to the Centre was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here, an official spokesman said.
A large number of people living in militancy affected areas of Jammu region had migrated from their native places over the years.
The state government is seeking an assistance of Rs 91 crore for the purpose of rehabilitating the Jammu migrants, the spokesman said. (AGENCIES)
