State Paramedical Council declares result

JAMMU, Aug 26: Jammu and Kashmir State Paramedical Council today declared the result of various paramedical courses in Jammu division.
Vice president, J&K State Paramedical Council Dr Ganshyam Dev Gupta, Principal and Dean Government Medical College Jammu disclosed that the exam was held on the direction of Minister for Health and Family Welfare Choudhary Lal Singh to clear the back log of the students since 2011-12.
The Registrar, J&K State Paramedical Council, Dr Sandeep Singh, when contacted disclosed that under the guidance of Health Minister, instructions have been passed to issue the pending mark sheets and diplomas to the students at the earliest possible time. He also stressed upon improving the standards of paramedical teaching in the state.
Controller Examination, J&K State Paramedical Council Dr AS Bhatia disclosed that a total of about 12,000 students of different branches appeared in the examination, the centres of which were established in Doda, Udhampur, Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch.
The various courses for which examination was held included Female Multi Purpose Health Worker, Male Health Worker, GNM, Opthalamic Assistant, Sanitary Assistant and Theatre Assistant.
Dr Bhatia disclosed that with this the State Paramedical Council has cleared the backlog of students in the State. The overall pass percentage of the result is 80 with the maximum successful students coming from GNM, Female Multipurpose Health Workers.
The result of theatre assistant was not satisfactory and necessary instructions will be passed on to the concerned colleges to improve the standard of teaching.
