State Pensioners Association holds protest

JAMMU, Aug 1: All Jammu and Kashmir State Pensioners Association held a protest against Government’s apathy towards pensioners’ problems.
While addressing the gathering, Mukund Lal Sharma, President of the association condemned the attitude of the Government towards the problems of the pensioners.
He demanded that Government should provide free insurance to all the pensioners and immediate shifting of pension review cases pending in the AG office to the concerned treasury offices.
Madan Lal Abrol, General Secretary regretted that the Government has failed to enhance the medical allowance and demanded enhancement of the medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month.
Yash Paul Sanson demanded that all the pensioners be exempted from the Income Tax.
Jagdish Dogra stressed upon the Government to provide 50 per cent rebate in Government buses to the pensioners, free medical facilities in hospitals and issuance of medical treatment cards to all the pensioners.
Among others present were Mohammad Shafi, Des Raj Sharma, Bhushan Pargal, Puran Chand Khajuria, Ravi Sawhney, ND Sharma, VK Sharma, Deepal Khajuria, Ram Dass Bhagat and Ram Pal Seth.
