State remembers Dr Ambedkar on 58th death anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 6: The State remembered Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedlkar on his 58th death anniversary, as various political and social organizations organized functions to pay floral tribute to the legendary leader.
Bahujan Samaj Party observed 58th Nirvan Divas of Bharat Ratna, Baba Sahib Dr BR Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at Ambedkar Chowk, Railway Road, Jammu. The BSP leaders who paid floral tribute were Narinder Kashyap, MP Rajya Sabha, State president, Tulsi Dass Langeh, Parkash Bharti, Coordinator, Punjab and Gurnam Singh and Dr Ram Gopal, coordinator, J&K. While speaking on the occasion, Langeh elucidated the contribution of Baba Sahib for the betterment and upliftment of oppressed and exploited people of the Country.
The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association organized a function here today to pay floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar on his 58th death anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, the association president, RL Kaith highlighted the contributions of Dr Ambedkar in uplifting the status of downtrodden people. Dr Ambedkar held that the emancipation of Dalit in India was possible only through the three-pronged approach of education, agitation and organization, said Kaith adding that Ambedkarism is the great relevance to Indian society to achieve social justice in establishing equality and true democracy.
ABVP Jammu University also remembered Dr BR Ambedkar, prinicipal architect of Constitution of India, and paid floral tribute to him on his death anniversary. The day was observed a ‘Samajik Samartha Diwas (social equality day)’ by ABVP all over the India and the same was observed by ABVP Jammu University. While paying floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar, Sunil Choudhary, ABVP president, DDE, Jammu University, highlighted his role as a jurist, economist, politician, a social reformer and also the first Minister of Law and Justice of Independent India.
National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu University Unit, also organized a programme in Jammu University to pay tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar, on his death anniversary. Ankush Abrol, senior National Conference leader and JKCA Working Committee member was the chief guest while Dr Vikas Sharma presided over the function. Sukhdev Singh, president NSF, was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Ankush Abrol said that the biggest tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar will be to realize his dreams and vision of a strong democracy to ensure equal opportunity for all. Dr Vikas Sharma also threw light on the life of Dr Ambedkar, who was the architect of Indian Constitution and is also known as the “Father of Indian Constitution”.
All J&K SC/ST Retired Employees Forum paid glowing tributes to Baba Sahib on his 58th Nirvan Divas during a function organized at Head Quarters of Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademy, Roop Nagar, Jammu, where a large number of people gathered to remember the services of Baba Sahib.
