JAMMU, June 10: State Taxes Department J&K today organised a workshop on Cyber Security under ‘Stay Safe Online Campaign’ of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GOI for the officers and officials of the department at Excise and Taxation Complex, Rail Head here.
The workshop was held under the supervision of Commissioner State Taxes, Rashmi Singh and Additional Commissioner State Taxes, Jammu, Namrita Dogra.
Addressing the workshop, Dr. Rashmi Singh highlighted the significant role played by the State Taxes Department in safeguarding citizens’ financial information and ensuring the integrity of tax systems. She added that this workshop will serve an opportunity to foster dialogue and share best practices among participants from diverse sectors, including Government agencies, private enterprises, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Commissioner State Taxes, Jammu, Namrita Dogra said that with the rapid advancement of technology and increased reliance on digital platforms, their is dire need for proactive efforts to protect sensitive data from cybercriminals.
Vikas Razdan, cyber security expert, SIA Jammu was resource person for the workshop.
Through this workshop officers/officials were made aware about the cyber frauds/ crimes and related issues and preventive measures to be kept in mind while surfing online via different modes viz the use of Android phones, personal desktop, tabs etc.
