State wide agitation of forest employees enters third day

JAMMU, Jan 19: State wide agitation of forest employees entered into third day at PCCF Office Van Bhawan and at all divisions’ office of the State.
Thousands of forest employees participated in the agitation under the banner of Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association.
The protesting employees were demanding implementation of the agreement extended between Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J&K Jammu and Association leaders. “The authorities assured through written agreement to NGFOA that their demands will be settled within 20 days, but after lapse of more than three months, the demands are not fulfilled”, they said.
They demanded removal of pay anomaly, release of two and half days extra salary in favour of forest frontline employees, risk allowance, conveying of DPCs of all cadres, reorganization of the department and regularization viz release of wages in respect of daily wagers, casual labours, seasonal labours and consolidated workers of the department.
The leaders of the association appealed to the Governor, Advisor (K), Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary Forests and PCCF J&K to fulfill the genuine and agreed demands of the forest employees on top priority to encourage the forest frontline employees.
Those who addressed the gathering were State President of the Association, Chief Advisor Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Mir Nazir, Provincial President Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Kalam, Provincial President Jammu Ravi Kumar, State Vice President Ghulam Nabi War, Vice President Jammu Province Gurcharan Singh and many others.
