Statehood among demands raised by JPBM

JAMMU, Aug 19: Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) has demanded Statehood for J&K.
In a press conference here today, JPBM chairman, Ashok Sharma said that majority of people of Jammu province are in favour of restoration of Statehood to J&K to preserve their Dogra identity.
He also demanded that the government should issue orders to secure ownership rights for land and right to get job in J&K solely for the original inhabitants of J&K.
Launching a scathing attack on PDD over the issue of smart meters, Ashok Sharma said that government must stop the process of installing these meters with immediate effect so that people may heave a sigh of relief.
He said that people are not prepared to take the burden of smart meters and asked the government to abolish Toll Plaza.
JPBM chairman flayed the government for levying Property Tax in J&K and said that people are already bearing the brunt of soaring prices of commodities and at this juncture burdening them more will not be proper.
He also urged upon the government to tackle the menace of drug abuse in Jammu.
Sharma also demanded release of wages to daily wagers of PHE and other departments besides regularization of all daily wagers who have completed seven years of their services.
