Statehood, elections only solution to public issues: Chib

REASI, Apr 2: Former minster and general secretary, Democratic Progressive Azad Party RS Chib today said that restoration of Statehood and early election of the Assembly, is the only solution to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
Addressing a party meeting at Reasi today Chib alleged that in this bureaucratic setup, the people are suffering badly. He especially mentioned about the corruption at every level, lack of employment opportunities for the youth, introduction of new taxes and steep rise in the prices of essential commodities.
“The people of our state have not forgotten the golden era of Ghulam Nabi Azad, when he was heading the state as CM,” Chib said. He asked the party rank and file to work hard, reach to the people with pro-people agenda of the DPAP and enroll maximum number of people as members, for the success of the party in the coming Assembly elections.
Provincial president Jugal Kishore Sharma who organised this meeting, reminded the people of Reasi, the development carried out in this hilly district when he was Cabinet Minister, with Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister. He further said that the long outstanding demand of the people for making Reasi as district was fulfilled by Azad.
Jugal said the speed of development works has come to grinding halt, for last four years, as compared to the period when he was in the Government. He made a special appeal to the youth to contribute for the success of the DPAP in coming elections.
PS Manhas, Zonal president of the Chenab Valley Zone while addressing the meeting said that DPAP has got inclusive agenda of development for all areas of the State. He said that it was during the period of GN Azad the hilly areas like took lead in the development process. The hilly districts like Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar got District status, due to the visionary approach of Ghulam Nabi Azad only.
Meanwhile, youth committee for the district Reasi was also announced by the general secretary as recommended by the Provincial president and Sushain Dubey was made president, with Zahid Manhas, Sahil Singh and Kuldeep Sharma as vice presidents. Ghulam Rasool was inducted as president of the ST Cell of District Reasi.
The others who spoke on the included Mehboob Mustafa, Anoop Khajuria, Sardari Lal Dubey, Surinder Bhagat and others.
