DODA, Apr 11: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Abdul Vakil today said that J&K state’s accession with rest of the country has been based on secularism and Congress was committed for the same.
Addressing public meeting at Bhaderwah, Chinta and other adjoining villages today, Vakil said that Congress is always committed for the secularism, national integration and peace. On the basis of secularism, the State’s accession was held. The  secularism is symbolized by Nehru family. The people of J&K have full faith n the leadership of Nehru family.
Referring to the pro-friendly decision taken by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for the people of J&K, Vakil said  during the period of turmoil and natural calamities Mrs Gandhi always took personal initiative. He said that under the dynamic and visionary role of  Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress will never allow any person or party to weaken  or damage the secular credentials of this State. He said that Azad’s determination or the equitable  development of all the three regions of J&K will definitely help this State to come out of red .
Vakil claimed that Azad infused work culture here but at the same time he tried his best to lessen the unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. He said it was possible during Azad’s regime that consensus was evolved on restricting the size of his ministry. He appealed the people to vote for Azad.
