State’s first CVC holds review meeting of Vigilance Organisation

JAMMU: First Chief Vigilance Commissioner of the State, Kuldeep Khoda today held maiden review meeting of State Vigilance Organization here.

Mr Khoda gave a brief profile of the newly constituted State Vigilance Commission created under the Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission Act, to supervise the functioning of the Vigilance Organisation besides, surveillance and advising the Government on several related issues etc.

During the meeting, it was emphasised that institution of Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) besides other immediate initiatives will have to be strengthened, official spokesman here said.

It was also emphasised that Vigilance Organization should speed up working and follow up with Government about pending prosecution sanctions.

The meeting concluded with the note of Chief Vigilance Commissioner that all possible efforts will be taken to make the Vigilance Organisation and State Vigilance Commission effective for good governance and effective public grievance redressal system to exhibit transparency and probity for the good of common man.

Vigilance Commissioner, R K Jerath, Director Vigilance Organisation, Owais Ahmed, IGP Vigilance Organisation, Alok Puri, Director Persecution Vigilance and Secretary Vigilance Commission also attended the meeting. (AGENCIES)
