KATHUA, Feb 26: A steel welder died after falling into a manhole here today.
As per reports, a steel welder namely Ashok Kumar, son of Dass Ram, a resident of Ward number 4 fell into a manhole while going home late night.
Some passerby noticed his body into the manhole and informed the police.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the manhole and shifted the body to district hospital Kathua for postmortem.
After completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kathua police station and investigation started.
