STF seizes 1915 MT minor minerals

Drive against illegal mining

JAMMU, Apr 15: The Special Task Force, constituted by Government to keep check on illegal mining on Tawi River Bed, conducted a series of raids, surprise checks and seized 1915 MT minor Minerals from various places.
The STF conducted raids and surprise checks at a dozen places from Bajalta to Gole Gujral on the left and right bank of River Tawi Sidhra, Bajalta, Seri Kalan (Seri Patta), Kuper, (Tutan Di Khui) Khanna Chargal, Panjgrain. Ban and Gole Gujral area near SOS School.
The Special Task Force comprising Ghansham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order), Jammu; Adil Hamid, SP Headquarter, Jammu and Ankur Sachdeva, District Mineral Officer, Jammu, during the raids and surprise checks seized 1150 MT Bajri, 155 MT Sand and 610 MT Nallah Boulders from different locations. The seized material was handed over to the concerned SHOs/ I/C PPs for further proceedings and necessary action by the Geology and Mining Department.
The Special Task Force, since its constitution, in association with the Police has seized 101 vehicles which includes 28 Tippers, 24 Tractor and Trallies, 39 Dumpers, 8 Trucks and 2 JCBs from October, 2020 to ending December,2020.
Similarly, during the period 01.01.2021 to 15.04.2021, 175 vehicles (which includes 44 Tippers, 75 Tractor and Traffics, 52 Dumpers, 02 JCB Machines and 02 TATA 407 have been seized (Total 2a76 Vehicles).
