JAMMU Aug 10: The first Sthapna Divas of Shani Maharaj Temple was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety by Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Gandhinagar, here, today. This Shani temple, constructed last year in Mandir complex, is a true replica of the world famous historic temple of Shri Shani Shingnapur in Pune.
The holy black plaque was specially brought from Shingnapur for this temple a handout issued by the Trust said.
Initially, the Trust had planned a full day celebrations but in view of the restrictions on account of law and order situation in Jammu since Monday, it was reduced to only two ceremonies, one in the morning and the other in the evening.
In the morning, there was Pushup Abhishek- offering of flowers to Shani Maharaj followed by one hour puja. In the evening, there was Tail Abhishek. It was a ceremony of offering oil to Shani Maharaj amidst recitation of mantras.
The president of the Trust, Gulchain Singh Charak and other members of the Trust along with large number of devotees participated in Sthapna Divas ceremonies.
