UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: Police arrested a bike lifter and recovered the stolen motorcycle.
Based on a written complaint received from Neetu Nargotra of Barrian, Udhampur that her motorcycle bearing registration number JK14B-2987 was stolen by some unknown persons from outside her house, a case FIR number 06/2022, under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur and search was started.
During the course of investigation, a Police team of PS Udhampur, headed by SHO Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of Dy SP Sahil Mahajan, rounded up several suspects. During sustained interrogation, one suspect namely Ajay Singh, son of Raj Singh of Jakhani, Udhampur, confessed his involvement in lifting of said bike from Baarian, Udhampur.
The accused person was arrested and on his disclosure, the stolen bike was recovered. Further investigation of the case is going on.
