JAMMU, Nov 27: Nowabad Police today claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen bike on his disclosure.
A police spokesman said that acting on a written complaint lodged on 22-11-2022 by one person namely Mangat Ram pertaining to theft of his motorcycle from a street near Arjuna Hotel, Jewel, Jammu, a case FIR number 142/2022 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Post Canal Road led by In-charge of the Post PSI Amreek Singh with the help of CCTV footages of the area rounded up a suspect namely Manjider Singh son of Satnam Singh, resident of Chandanke (Amritsar, Punjab).
“During intensive questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CC-8036 was recovered from his possession,” the spokesman added.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
