KATHUA, Feb 7: Police in Basohli area of this District today claimed to have seized 200 GI pipes stolen from Jankhar area. These pipes were meant to be used under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
Acting on specific information, a truck (PB07CD-8308) was intercepted at Atal Setu Bridge, a police official said.
On search of the vehicle, 200 GI pipes worth approximately Rs 30 lakh, being taken to Punjab clandestinely by an organized gang, were recovered, he said.
Police have started further investigation into the matter.
