SRINAGAR, July 3: Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district recovered stolen property worth lakhs and arrested three burglars.
A police spokesman said that the arrested burglars had decamped with stolen valuables from a home in Ajas area of the district.
“Habibullah Dar of Matipora Ajas filed a complaint with police that on the intervening night of 30/01-06/07-2015, two men came to their house and asked for some water to break their fast. Later they asked for tea and entered into the house. Then they gave some substance to the family members to eat and told that they have the power to bless their money and gold and later decamped with some cash, a mobile phone and Gold worth lakhs,” a police spokesman said.
They were travelling in a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-0269.
On receipt of this complaint, police registered a case and an investigation team was formed.
The police spokesman said that the investigating team arrested three burglars along with the Tavera vehicle within 24 hours.
“All the stolen property has been recovered,” he said, adding that the arrested burglars have been identified as Mashook Ahmad Shah, Hilal Ahmad Shah and Fayaz Ahmad Gojri.
“Manhunt is on to nab the fourth involved man identified as Ghulam Hassan Shah. Further investigation in this regard is going on,” the spokesman added.
