Stolen truck recovered, bus with fake number seized

KATHUA, July 12: The police recovered a stolen truck loaded with 310 bags of cement while a bus fitted with fake number plate and having fake documents was seized today.
A police spokesman said that truck No. PB10T/9605 which was parked at Chhapar Morh in Hira Nagar on National Highway at around 11.30 pm was stolen when both driver and cleaner were taking dinner at a Dhaba. They reported the matter to police. The police flashed messages to all the police stations and alerted nakas. With the prompt action of police the truck was recovered from the outskirts of Kathua early morning. The cement bags were also found intact. The thieves abandoned the truck in view of the police alert.
Meanwhile, the police seized a bus and arrested one person (driver) as he had fitted fake number plate. The action was taken by police on the basis of a complaint which said that one Jagdish Raj, son of Jagan Nath of Begowal of district Kapoorthla at present Kotha near Kathua has prepared fake documents of bus No. JK02D/0625 and has fixed fake number plate on the bus while the original bus of the same number was parked at Hatli Morh.
Kathua police then swung into action and arrested the accused and seized bus fitted with fake number plate after verifying record from RTO office. A case FIR No. 257/2012 under Section 420/ 467/468/471 RPC was registered against him.
