JAMMU, Apr 25: A stolen motorcycle was recovered today by Canal Police from Bhagwati Nagar area of Jammu.
On April 16, MTO Security, Civil Secretariat, Jammu lodged a complaint at police station City that one Government motorcycle (Honda Shine) bearing registration number JK02BE-5050 has been stolen from Residency Road area.
On the basis of the complaint, a case FIR No 28/2018 under Section 379 RPC was registered at police station City and investigation started. During investigation, all efforts were made to trace the stolen motorcycle.
Today a Police team of police post Canal headed by SI Sohan Singh, Incharge police post, while on patrolling duty in Bhagwati Nagar area found the stolen motorcycle parked on road side near Bapu Asha Ram Ashram, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
On enquiry from nearby people, nobody claimed for this vehicle and accordingly the same was seized under Section 550 CrPC. Police station City was informed about the seizure for further course of action.
The recovery was made under the supervision of SHO, police station Nowabad, SDPO City West, Pranav Mahajan and SP City North, Dr Vinod Kumar.
