JAMMU, Apr 18: Jhajjar Kotli Police recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested the accused.
As per police sources, an information was received through reliable source to SHO Police Station Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh that a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK20-4944 which was stolen from Suketar on March 17 this year and a case FIR Number 57/2022 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli is seen in District Leh.
On receiving the information, a police team headed by PSI Sharaz Ahmed was dispatched to District Leh.
SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh contacted with the Police authorities of District Leh and apprised them regarding the said vehicle and requested to seize the vehicle.
Today, the police team brought the stolen Mahindra vehicle to Police Station Jhajjar Kotli from Police Post Khalsi District Leh and arrested the accused, who was identified as Shahnaz Ahmed Wagay, son of Ghulam Hassan Wagay of Arampora, Sumbal Ghat District Bandipora.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The recovery of the stolen vehicle and arrest of the accused was made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Kumar.
