JAMMU, Oct 30: Expressing serious concern over deteriorating situation in Kashmir, Panun Kashmir (PK) today said that security situation in State post ULB elections has worsened and the stone pelting has formally assumed the position of an “alternate terror mechanism”.
Talking to reporters here, today PK president, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo along with chairman Political Affairs Committee (PAC) PK, Virender Raina, Upinder Kaul and Kamal Bhagati its general secretaries and Sameer Bhat convenor , PK Youth said the advocates of stone pelters have, unfortunately, made their entry in every political party.
Chrungoo, said the statement of the Chief of Army Staff, general Bipin Rawat in this context, also assumes significance that “the stone pelters are nothing but over ground workers of the terror groups and should be dealt sternly”. The merciless stoning to death of a young army jawan in the Valley is a pointer to the fact that “alternate terror mechanism” has been well trained to do its duty as a back-up force to gun-wielding terrorists.
P K leader appealed to the Central and State Governments to think afresh about the stone-pelting menace and review the policy regarding this ‘alternate terror mechanism”. It has otherwise potential to become a major security threat even to the peaceful people of the State besides the security apparatus.
He said this Alternate Terror Mechanism has been adopted as a “profession” also by some people who have got terrible links in the politico-administrative machinery of the State. The attack on army camps and other establishments in Kashmir also is an issue of serious concern and review of policy.
The expose made by the Governor of the State, Satya Pal Malik about the recruitment scandal in PSC, JKBL, Health Department and other public institutions is a matter of serious concern. To add to it, there are further revelations about the KVIB and the Education Department recruitments. It is matter of great concern that the scams have been unearthed by a person in position of the stature of Governor of the State. The allegations that the Mehbooba led Government was involved in the scams need not only thorough probe which has been ordered in some cases but also punitive action under law should be taken.
Virender Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee said that the statement of the MoS in the PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh is apt and timely that Kashmir is no issue at all that needs any kind of ‘resolution’. In this context, the statement of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu on the J&K Accession Day is appreciated which said “we are all Indians and will live and die as Indians, he added.
