SRINAGAR, Dec 17: Senior vice president of People’s Conference and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today lashed out at BJP and its some Union Ministers as they leave no stone unturned to defame and mudsling politicians of regional parties in J&K in the name of corruption.
In a statement issued here Vakil said that if the BJP Government has solid evidence and proof of corruption against any politician or bureaucrat then why the Govt is reluctant in taking action against those involved in any scam.
“It is strange and surprising that the Government recently made hue and cry for involvement of some politicians under Roshni Act in land grabbing but till today no action has been taken against anybody. It shows clearly that the BJP leadership is hell bent to defame politicians of Regional parties of J&K and level any sort of allegations using the State machinary in order to force them to play on the tunes of Govt,” Vakil added.
He said People’s Conference believes that corruption is a vital issue not only in  J&K but in the whole country. It is to be dealt with strong hand irrespective of party politics, free from revenge and venom.
“But it is strange that instead of focusing attention on developmental issues in DDC elections,  BJP leadership is diverting the attention of the people of its failures on economic front towards irrelevant issues. The party in power need not to cry but to take action,” Vakil added.
Vakil questioned both Centre and the UT Govt why they failed to expose those who were involved in Health Insurance scam and Gulmarg land scam.
He asked the Govt to explain the reason being slow in taking action against the culprits in the said scams although the Govt. had assured the people time bound action.
The senior PC leader stressed on the BJP leadership to stop mud-slinging, defaming and harassing politicians and if they mean prosperity of the people then fight oppostion on constructive lines with a devlopmental programme rather to raise irrelevant issues.
