Stop playing politics over human blood: Prof Gupta

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 10: Former Union Minister Prof  Chaman Lal Gupta has asked politicians not to play politics over human blood  and stressed for having some respect  for moral values  in public life.
In a hard hitting press statement here today, Prof Gupta recalled some of the secessionists  who are chanting for Azadi to mislead young generation, where under oath of  the Constitution they are still drawing benefits including pensions  and even treatment abroad as being former legislators of the State, which is an irrevocable part of India.
Prof Gupta said Sayeed  Ali Shah Geelani, leader of  Separatist Hurriyat Conference was three terms member of State Legislative Assembly as such he has taken oath of the Constitution at least half a dozen times. He is availing all the facilities from the Govt.
The former Minister said  that preaching of secession  is  a sedition but it becomes all the more heinous   act against the oath. And above all, to glorify the cross border terrorism  and patronize the violence leading to bloodshed, destruction and forced migration of  lakhs of people from their homes  and hearths in Kashmir valley is yet another serious crime.  These helpless people have become refugees in their own country due to the acts of secessionists and their supporters.
Prof Gupta stressed upon all the mainstream political parties to play their positive role in restoring normalcy in the troubled  Kashmir  and guide the misled youth and others that they are not going to achieve anything by adopting  the path of bloodshed and destruction. He said the real problem in Kashmir is the aggressive designs of the unscrupulous neighbour. Majority of the people want  development, peace  and prosperity.
