JAMMU, June 2: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray has said that tradition of releasing separatists and stone pelters ahead of Eid should be stopped.
In a news conference here today State Shiv Sena president, Dimpy Kohli and General Secretary, Manish Sahni extended Eid greetings to the people and said that releasing mischievous elements and separatists on such festivals is not in nation’s interest.
Sahni quoted some Kashmiri leaders for appealing the Governor to release separatist leaders and stone pelters on the auspicious occasion of Eid.
He said all previous Governments have released separatists and stone-pelters on Eid to build trust.
Sahni also said that there is a need to take hard steps for restoring peace in Kashmir now.
He said that recent meeting of Governor Satya Pal Malik with Home Minister Amit Shah and others has not received green signals to release separatists.
On this occasion Vickey Kumar, Kamal Sharma and others joined Shiv Sena and were welcomed into party folds by Harsh Kumar Gupta, Vice President of State Shiv Sena, Surjit Singh Chib and others.
Vickey Kumar was appointed as Shiv Sena president for Ward number 10.
