Stop running paper tigers: Bhalla to Govt

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 22: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today asked PDP-BJP Government to focus on issues concerning common man that getting distracted by ‘constitutional matters’.
While interacting with the people from Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla said the main focus of Govt should be on common man’s issues like regular power and water supply and proper supply of ration. These are the issues of priority for a common man, for whom all other issues, including the “constitutional” issues, come much later, Bhalla said.
The Congress leader asked the Govt to focus wholeheartedly on providing day-to-day amenities to the common man. He said that there is complete mess in administration and nobody is bothering to listen and attend the problem of common men. He said that the ministers are busy in enjoying comforts and making transfer and posting for their personnel interest and gain. He said that it is very unfortunate that the BJP instead of focusing on addressing the problems and sufferings of public is busy in unproductive talk and also trying to busy other in the same. He said BJP has completely failed to address the problem of unemployment, poverty elevation, keep check on corruption in public life and militant activities.
He alleged that BJP has set aside all of its core issues. Anger is now brewing, especially among educated youth, over the Centre’s lack of response to engage them. Instead of taking up governance issues seriously, the BJP-PDP Government in the State has been  issuing orders to appease favourites. The development has been given no priority.
He said that the people of Jammu region in particular were feeling cheated and betrayed as none of the pre-poll pledges by the BJP during elections had been incorporated in the agenda of alliance.  He regretted that gullible people of the Jammu region who had been seduced and mesmerized by the highly seductive slogans of BJP were utterly disillusioned with the Agenda of Alliance which was still being described as ‘sacred’ and ‘visionary’ by BJP leadership in their desperation to forge re-alliance with PDP.
