Store owner held for packing sub-standard cement in branded bags

RAMBAN, Dec 16: Chanderkote police arrested a cement store owner for packing sub-standard cement in branded bags and supplying the same to Srinagar for construction purpose.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Chanderkote police station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JKO8A-9056.
During checking, police found that the sub-standard cement was packed in 360 branded bags.
The driver of the truck during questioning revealed that the truck was loaded from Chouhan Cement Store, district Kathua and the consignment was to be delivered in Srinagar for some construction purpose.
On the disclosure of the truck driver, police team from Chanderkote police station arrested the owner of the Chouhan Cement Store, who has been identified as Pritam Singh, a resident of Rajbagh, district Kathua. The truck in which the cement bags were loaded was also seized.
A case under FIR number 69/14 under Section 420, 482, 486 and 488 RPC has been registered at Chanderkote police station and investigation started.
