JAMMU, May 16: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed concern over numerous complaints of lack of basic facilities and the observance of social distancing norms in several Quarantine centres and asked the government to constitute a high level committee to immediately inspect and monitor arrangements in all Quarantine Centres in view of the protests and complaints from various quarters.
JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has said that there are numerous complaints and protests over lack of necessities and basic facilities in some Quarantine Centres,  which can aggravate the situation and causing lot of hardships to the inmates. There is urgent need to set up high level committee to immediately inspect and monitor the Centres to prevent any  spread of the disease and make the life of inmates comfortable.
He regretted that the labourers,  who have been approaching the govt for permission,  are being denied or delayed the same,  as a result they are getting frustrated and have started on- foot journey or made alternative arrangements for their journey. The Administration has failed to deal with the issue in an organized manner,  as a result poor labourers suffer a lot. He said that large number of labourers who approached us, too have not been given permission despite their requests also forwarded by the congress party.
Sharma said that the the JK labourers and others stranded outside, are also suffering a lot,  as most of the people are yet to get any appropriate response after 50 days of lockdown. There is inept handling and mismanagement of the entire issue of labourers and others stranded, within or outside J&K.
He expressed concern that the number is rising rapidly and India has crossed the figures of even China, even during ongoing lockdown, so the situation is serious. The Government and the people have to work shoulder to shoulder to fight the corona but the mishandlings at some levels should be removed to effectively deal with the situation.
