Strengthen disaster infrastructure: MP

SAMBA, Aug 17: Member Parliament from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency and senior Congress leader Madan Lal Sharma has stressed for strengthening of disaster infrastructure in the region.
The Congress MP who visited several flood affected areas of district Samba along with Dy Commissioner R K Varma and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh besides Sarpanchs and some Block leaders, stressed upon the need to improve  disaster infrastructure in all the four districts including  Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch. He felt the need to develop a robust disaster management plan at district level  and asked the Divisional and the State Administration to equip District Development Commissioners as per the need.
Mr Sharma also expressed grief and sorrow over the death of one Rakesh Kumar who drowned in flood water of  Basantar at Kamore in Ramgarh today. He also condoled the death of the youth and expressed his condolences with the bereaved family. He stressed for adequate compensation/ relief and job to one family member.
Later, the MP paid visit to  Rangoor Camp, Nang, Kamore Camp, Barota  and other areas.  The DC briefed the MP about the measures taken to tackle the flood situation.
