Sir,
I commend the Government’s decision to approve the construction of five additional roads and upgrade existing ones in Eastern Ladakh.
This strategic move, executed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), is crucial for enhancing troop mobility and local connectivity along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
The allocation of Rs 6,500 crore to the BRO and Rs 1,050 crore to the Vibrant Village Programme underscores the Government’s commitment to bolstering our border infrastructure.
The construction of all-weather roads and the initiation of the Shinkun La tunnel are significant steps towards ensuring seamless movement for our armed forces and fostering development in remote border villages.
This initiative not only strengthens national security but also brings much-needed economic benefits to the local population, ensuring their inclusion in the nation’s progress.
