Struggling SRH to face rampaging CSK

HYDERABAD:  After losing their last three matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to sort out their batting woes and get back on the winning track when they face rampaging Chennai Super Kings in their next match of the ongoing IPL season here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.

SRH, who lost their last match against DC are currently placed at the sixth spot in the points table and will desperately want to get a win and move above in the table.

On the other hand, CSK are sitting pretty at the top of the points table with 14 points from eight games and they will look to confirm their spot in the playoffs against the Sunrisers.

It seems that SRH batting have been largely dependent on the destructive opening pair of Johnny Bairstow and David Warner. Whenever, they have been unable to perform, none of the middle order batsmen have taken the responsibility to finish the game with a win for SRH.

The SRH may use Jonny Bairstow down the order to give middle-order some sort of stability in this match. Williamson may open with the in-form David Warner. SRH changed their middle order batsmen in the last match and gave a chance to Abhishek Shrama, Ricky Bhui and Deepak Hooda but they didn’t get enough time to prove themselves.

On the other hand, CSK batting includes Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis and captain M S Dhoni who did the job whenever, their team needed them.  However, CSK’s only concern will be opener Shane Watson’s form. It will be interesting to see whether CSK will give him another chance or find someone else to replace him.

In the bowling department, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir and Mitchell Santner have taken the responsibility and picked up wickets at regular intervals. The CSK may bring in Harbhajan Singh, who missed the last game, in place of Mitchell Santner. All-rounder Dwayne Bravo is still injured and unavailable for selection.

For SRH, pacer Khaleel Ahmed was sensational with the bowl and claimed three wickets in the last match. However,  Sandeep and Bhuvneshwar will too have to share the responsibility and deliver their best. Rashid Khan is the lone spinner in the side.

In head to head contest, so far, SRH and CSK have played 10 matches in the history of the IPL tournament. CSK have won Eight, while SRH managed to win the remaining Two.
