JAMMU, Sept 20: A 10th class student allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at his residence after he failed in High Secondary School examinations in RS Pura.
A police spokesman said that, a 10th class student identified as Neeraj Kumar, son of Satpal Sharma of Ward Number 8, RS Pura consumed some poisonous stuff at his residence yesterday.
Finding him unconscious, family members shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The student had appeared in the class 10th examination and got failed he said, adding that his parents used to scold him over his result.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at RS Pura Police Station and investigations are in progress.
