REASI, Feb 25: A Polytechnic student committed suicide by shooting himself with the licensed gun of his father at Nai Basti, Reasi, here this evening.
The deceased has been identified as Surat Singh (23), son of Rashpal Singh of Nai Basti, Reasi. He shot on his head with 12-bore gun and died on the spot.
Hearing the gun shot, the other family members rushed to his room where he was found lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to District Hospital Reasi where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained. Police has registered the case and started investigations.
