RAJOURI, Nov 25: One of the brightest students and a bronze medal winner, hostelier student of Army Goodwill Public School, Rajouri died under mysterious circumstances today.
Official sources said that Irfan Ahmed (17), son of Mohd Bashir, a resident of Mangota village in Thannamandi Tehsil of district Rajouri, who was a student of class 12th in AGPS. was putting up in hostel of the school, situated at Choudhary Nad near Rajouri.
The boy allegedly took some poisonous substance in his hostel room on Sunday evening and became unconscious. His hostel mate noticed and informed other boys and warden. He was shifted to Jammu by school management without informing his parents, but the student died on the way to Jammu.
Today, when his dead body reached his house, a pall of gloom descended the entire village. The family members and villagers expressed strong resentment and anguish against the irresponsible attitude of school management who didn’t even bother to inform them. After family’s great resentment and anguish Thannamandi police has registered a case of death under mysterious circumstances and has started investigations.
Meanwhile, the sources said that the deceased was a very bright student. He has won a brozne medal in inter-district wrestling championship held in Jammu and his untimely and mysterious death has created suspense in the minds of many other parents whose children are inmates of AGPS hostel.
Parents are asking question like from where the hostel inmate bought any poisonous substance as there are strict security arrangements inside and outside AGPS and hostel complex. Army jawans are guarding the hostel and school premises who didn’t allow even a bird to wander over there and a strict vigil is kept on every one moving in and out of the hostel.
The parents of the deceased have demanded high level inquiry by the Army authorities and fair investigation by police into the matter.
