RAMBAN, July 22: In a most shameful act, a Government teacher committed rape with 8th class student in Chambalbas area under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station.
Police spokesman said that a student of Government High School Chambalwas was passing outside the Upper Primary School in the adjoining Ganchos area when a Government teacher Hayat Khan, who was known to the victim, asked her to wait for some time in order to deliver keys of the school at his residence.
When all the staff members left Upper Primary School, Hayat Khan dragged the girl to office room and thereafter committed heinous crime with her. When the girl didn’t return from the school till evening, her parents started search.
Finally, they came to know that victim was seen in the premises of Upper Primary School along with Hayat Khan in the afternoon. Accordingly, they reached the school and rescued the girl from the office room. However, by that time the accused teacher had managed to escape.
The incident was brought to the notice of Banihal Police, which got the medical examination of the girl conducted. Today, the accused teacher was also arrested and booked under Section 376 and 342 RPC.
Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer Ramban has placed Hayat Khan under suspension for committing the heinous crime.
