JAMMU, May 6: The students of Humanity Public School (Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana) brought Laurels to the school by winning the final match of Under-14 kho-kho match against StMary Convent School (Smailpur, Bari Brahmana) by 12 points at the recently concluded Inter-School Tournaments of zone Purmandal.
This tournament was organized by the Depertment of Youth Services and Sports (District – Samba) and was held at Government Higher Secondary School ground Smailpur, Bari Brahmana. About 200 students from 8 schools participated.
The team comprising Yasmeen, Neha, Rumani, Deepshikha, Sangeeta, Shivani Manhas, Shreya, Priya, Itika, Babita, Preeti and Shivani Bhagat of HPS participated in under – 14yrs (Girls – kho-kho). The team of HPS defeated St Mary Convent School, Smailpur to clinch the title.
The tournament was organized under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer, Purmandal.
The students of the school who participated in this tournament were received in the school premises by Gaurav Charak (Principal), Akashdeep Raina (Incharge), Ajay Sharma (Phy.Instructor) and Nitin Jamwal (Office Asst) along with the staff members.
On this occasion, Principal of the school said that the school management is leaving no stone unturned to promote Physical Education in the school for providing platform to the students to take part in different sports activities at District, State & National Levels.
