Students at GDC Ramnagar suffer due to non-availability of teaching staff

UDHAMPUR, Aug 28: A deputation of parents of the students in Government  Degree College Ramnagar called on  the college Principal and apprised him of the  problems being faced by the Part I, Part II and Part III students due to non-availability of teaching staff.
The College Principal,  Prof  Tara Nath gave a patient hearing to the parents and admitted that  due to non availability of staff,  the students were suffering. The higher authorities have been apprised of the situation and the problem is likely to be resolved very soon, he added
The Principal also informed  that some local volunteers have offered to give their services without any demand of money. “We are trying our best to ensure that students may not suffer,” he said and informed that there were  40 posts of Lecturers in Degree College Ramnagar and only 10 were available presently. Due to this problem, students were  not admitted in some subjects, which are  available in this college.
According to the students, Botany, Maths, Physics, Sociology Dogri, Hindi, EVS, Economics, Computer Science and  Commerce subjects were  not being taught in the college even as the session is on.
